Sad news.. I know. :(

I have been using a TWELVE YEAR OLD clip-on lapel microphone with absolutely no noise cancelling that I have been using for, well, twelve years. It has finally died on me yesterday. I have been fixing it once a month for about five years now. I usually have to re-wire it and sometimes solder the wires back together as well as onto the microphone itself which has made the cord two feet shorter in its lifetime. The actual clip has broken off about three years ago so I usually just throw the microphone down my shirt. Sadly, well.... it simply died. Tried to work on it for over an hour last night and its a no-go. There has always been a pound of tape inside and outside. It's a sad day.. this mic has been with me ever since I played my first game. And it always worked like a charm, of course after a little TLC. It's like losing a family member. I need a tissue.

So.. hopefully I'll find somewhere on the 'net to buy a cheap, new clip-on lapel mic. I'll be hangin' out in TS, but I won't be able to talk. So keep an eye out for my text ingame until a new mic arrives.

Also, since the new forum upgrade I no longer have access to the members area. Anybody care to fix it, please? :)

Thanks.

Go for the headset, I am not sure why you want a lapel mic. Here is a link to an Ebay auction for the headset I have. It works great, it is cheap, and many of us use them.

Thanks, but I don't think so. I had a cheap ass pair of Plantronics .Audio 90's and the sound quality is simply pathetic, not to mention way uncomfortable. I currently have a set of Bose Tri-Ports and am currently looking into a high-end set of headphones/custom molded ear phones. So.. a nice lapel/lavalier mic sounds good. Currently looking into something such as a Sony ECM-C10.
