:cry: It seems that something has changed the m10 to be less effective than a sherman. Almost everybody on the server agrees. It is virtually impossible for allies to win. I played many games today, and anytime I was on allies in an m10, every single hit was devestating. It didn;t matter what angle, what direction, or what type of enemy tank was shooting, the damage was always at least 50%, in many cases, the tank was destroed in a single shot. While playing allies, I could almost never win an m10 vs tiger battle, even if I had the first shot by suprise. When I played axis, I could go up against 2 m10's in a tiger and win almost all the time. Somebody has changed something drastically. Even bazooka/panzerschrek rounds do about 50% damage to the m10 now. It's no fun playing on allies, because axis will dominate them.
Could somebody check this out? I now some of you are going to give me the standard "nothing has changed" answer, but it's not just me. It's hurting attendance on the server. Axis wipes out Allies almost every time.

I think that sometimes the damage system can get messed up on the server for one reason or another. Somehow it gets corrupted. I am not sure if rebooting the server fixes it or if the mod needs to be reinstalled. I know that this has definetly happened before. Doh can explain.

Most games I have played are very balanced actually, atleast when teams aren't stacked.
The other team was probally just stacked with experienced tankers, as I find thats often the case in the server. I do admit though, that the M10 is a crap tank compared to the Tiger when you compare them. I used to think differently, but more and more often than not I get the impression that the Tiger is extremely dominating when put in the right hands.

I checked this morning and the server files looked fine to me. The only mods in place are the ones that increase the number of tanks, change the spawn times of tanks and make the mains uncappable.

Even though the files checked out, I replaced all of the with my backup copies.
Is it better today?

Doh,
it seems that not much has changed since yesterday for me. I was in a fresh M10 going head to head with a Panzer and lost the battle. I took 2 front shots (non-tread) from the Panzer (50%) each and died. There were no other tanks around so I'm sure that I didn't catch a stray shot from a 3rd tank.
I still managed to score well but had to play a different type of game to do so. Basically, I just played as if my M10 was a Sherman with a M10 gun and speed. :lol:

Guys, I normally see this problem when 2 servers are up and a restart did not happen. Even if the Other server is UP and nobody is on it there will be problems with No Regs etc.....
Thats why I always tempted to leave Server 2 down.

Ya, I noticed it a couple of days ago. I hit a panzer with 3 M-10 shells and it didn't do anything.

Since there has been relatively little activity on the modded tank server, we will just leave that one down...
That way only EA 10 and Teamspeak are running on the machine.

I dont think it is a bandwith problem or an issue that our server cant handle it. I believe it has to do with how the addressing scheme is used in BF42 or in BBO.

I replaced all of the EA 10 server files with my double secret backups of the originals. I then re modded the EA 10 files. There have been several suggestions on TS and in forums on some changes suggested and I have implemented them in the new mods. The most significant is that each side will only have 4 heavies total (2 spawns of 2 each) and mains can be capped, but it takes a FULL minute to do it. The other 2 heavy spawns have been replaced with lights.
Hopefully this fixes the wrench issue as well as the uber hits on tanks that have been reported.

I changed EA 10 so the mains cannot be capped and reinstituted the messages to that effect on the server. From my inquiries the reaction was mixed on allowing mains to be capped, so it is back to non cap.
